Winning at online blackjack, as lovers of the casino game know all too well, depends largely on strategy – rather than luck – and knowing advanced blackjack strategies can help put players in the winning driver’s seat. If you know basic card counting principles, below you’ll find my advanced blackjack strategies that’ll give you a leg up.
By the way, one great online casino where you can test out these advanced blackjack tips is at Online Vegas Casino, where you can play (i.e. test) for fun or for the real stuff when you feel you’re ready to put the theory of winning into actual practice.
Blackjack Strategy #1: Timing Insurance Just Right
If a dealer shows an Ace and you happen to know that the deck still has lots of 10s left -more than four – in it, the time is right to take insurance.
Blackjack Strategy #2: Take A Stand With 16
Normally, you would hit if you have a total of 16 against a dealer that’s showing anything from 7 on up to an Ace as his / her upcard. However, if the 10 card count is positive – even by only one – you should stand on 16 against a dealer’s 10. Statistically, this play is more profitable than hitting, which actually has a higher likelihood of pulling up a 10.
Blackjack Strategy #3: Take A Stand With 15
Similar to #2, if the count is more than four, the correct play would be to stand on 15 against a dealer’s 10 upcard.
Blackjack Strategy #4: Know When To Split
And I obviously don’t mean leaving the online blackjack table. If a dealer shows a six, he / she’s already in a bad spot. If there happens to be lots of 10s left in the deck – more than 5 – the dealer’s worst just got worse, and splitting your 20, for example, is the right move. With all of those 10s, the dealer is most likely going to bust anyway. If not, you’re more likely to hit more 20s with your split 10s.
Blackjack Strategy #5: Know When To Split Again
I’d recommend splitting 10s against a dealer’s 5 upcard under a specific condition. Clearly, you need a real juicy count of 10s to risk this unusually-aggressive, not-for-the-faint-of-heart blackjack strategy. The golden count number you’re looking for before giving it a try is more than 6 minimally. What you’re hoping for is a dealer bust.
