The prevalence of “baccarat strategy” and “baccarat system” promises on the Internet just proves that people are eager to learn to master this classic casino table game. For better or worse, the plain truth is that there are no baccarat systems that will improve your luck at the table — for luck is exactly what baccarat is based upon.

Even knowing the rules of the game is not strictly necessary (do you need to know how a slot machine works to collect the jackpot?). The croupier will deal, total the card values, and deal any necessary further cards before announcing the winner. The player’s control is limited to the choice of a bet on either the Banker or Player hand (or on a tie), and how much to wager. A coin toss would be as useful as the most thorough baccarat system ever designed.

One small caveat: there are a few games flying under the baccarat banner. Chemin de Fer is a complex game that involves a button dealer system (broadly reminiscent of Texas Hold’em poker) and a pair of opposing teams whose positions and capabilities change from hand to hand. Baccarat Banque is similar to Chemin de Fer but has an even more fluid ruleset; both of these versions can vary considerably depending on the (often European) casino in which they are being played.

Either of those version could definitely benefit from a baccarat strategy guide or baccarat system, but skill does not enter into the standard baccarat punto banco or mini-baccarat which is played in online casinos, North America, and elsewhere. In this game, the deal of the cards alone determines the winner — no baccarat system in the world could improve your game even slightly.
