Now in its second year, PokerStars.net’s Australia New Zealand Poker Tour announces its first 6 event – and the first of its events is slated to take place at SKYCITY Adelaide Casino in Adelaide, South Australia from Feb. 9 to Feb. 14, 2010.

The next stop will be in Perth from March 17 to March 21, 2010 at the Burswood Entertainment Complex.

Season 1 of ANZPT took in 1,309 players and gave out $2,982,196 in prize money in total – and expectactions are that ANZPT Season 2 will exceed all previous benchmarks. Speaking of previous benchmarks, the first tour- which incidentally uses a leader board to track players’ points for each event as well as their tournament positioning – belonged to Team PokerStars Pro and Aussie, Tony Hachem, who became the tour’s overall champion.

From Monday to Saturday, twice nightly, PokerStars.net will run freerolls leading up to ANZPT Season 2, with top players qualifying for a Sunday Stage 2 final. First top ten from each final will then battle it out for a package to ANZPT Adelaide, which includes the Main Event buy-in ($3,000 AUD), seven nights’ accommodation at the InterContental Hotel, $500 in cash and a selection of various outings.
